Vendemos grande parte dos nossos bens materias, nos despedimos de amigos e familiares e deixamos nossos empregos.

Cabe aqui ressaltar que estávamos felizes com todos eles e decidimos fazer esta viagem agora pois era um sonho dos dois de conhecer o mundo e de bicicleta é a maneira que mais gostamos de viajar, nos permitindo interagir melhor com o que há em volta.

Pensamos em fazê-la quando ficassemos mais velhos, mas a certeza de que um dia conseguiríamos fazer se postergássemos ou se iríamos chegar a ficar mais velhos não tínhamos. A única certeza que havia é que não gostaríamos de um dia, quando velhinhos, pensássemos como teria sido “aquela viagem de bicicleta” que não fizêmos juntos quando éramos mais novos.

After numerous bike trips together, we decided that the time had come to carry out what will be the longest of all, and certainly unforgettable. We sold most of our material goods, we said goodbye to friends and family and left our jobs. I´d like to point out that we were happy with all of them and decided to make this trip now because it was a dream of us to know the world and cycling is the way we like to travel, allowing us to better interact with what’s around.

We thought about doing it when we get older, but not sure that one day we could do it if we postponed or if we wouldn´t die before. The only certainty is that if we get old, we wouldn´t like to look back and think about “that cycle trip” we did not do together when we were younger.

Sabíamos que dar a volta ao mundo de bicicleta não é fácil, aliás muito pelo contrário, é bem difícil e cansativo.

Há momentos de muito frio, calor extremo, esgotamento físico, doenças, tédio, saudades de amigos e familiares, dores musculares, incertezas, sede, vento contra, perigos, momentos miseráveis, fome e que as paisagens nem sempre são aquelas do tipo “National Geographic” como vemos em blogs de cicloturismo.

Uma cicloviagem tão longa assim não é para qualquer um, mas só saberíamos se seria para nós, tentando…

We knew that a bicycle world travel is not easy, in fact quite the contrary, it is difficult and tiring. There are times of cold, extreme heat, physical exhaustion, illness, boredom, longing for friends and family, muscle pain, uncertainty, thirst, dangers, headwinds, miserable moments, hunger and that the landscapes we pass by are not always those of the “National Geographic” as we see in blogs of cycle touring.

Such a long cycle-navigation is not for everyone, but we would only know if it would be for giving it a try …

Então, decidimos deixar a zona de conforto e partir, querendo conhecer melhor o mundo onde estamos.  So we decided to leave the comfort zone and go, wanting to know better the world where we live.
